The vehicle may receive at least a portion of the motive power from an internal combustion engine (ICE) that is connected to a generator, or, in the alternative, the vehicle receives all motive power from one or more electric motors powered by a traction battery pack in electrical communication with an auxiliary power module (APM). The system charges and discharges the vehicle battery based on a comparison between the state-of-charge of the vehicle battery and the target state-of-charge range of the vehicle battery. Charging and discharging the vehicle battery creates a balance between a charging capacity and a discharging capacity of the vehicle battery.",
