The invention is directed to a secondary battery comprising an electrode assembly, a case for housing the electrode assembly therein, a cap plate covering an opening of the case, and at least one battery terminal. The at least one battery terminal comprises a current collector terminal electrically coupled to the electrode assembly, a first fixing member mechanically and electrically coupled to the current collector terminal, a coupling terminal mechanically coupled to the first fixing member, and a second fixing member mechanically coupled to the coupling terminal. The first fixing member is provided with a side opening configured for lateral insertion of the coupling terminal and the top surface of the first fixing member contacts the top surface of the coupling terminal from above.
