Device for attaching a fitting to a fixing structure of a vehicle

The device has a clamping jaw movably supported at a base (10). A gear (40) couples an actuating body (35) with the clamping jaw. The gear includes two gear members (32, 41), where one member exhibits a longitudinal guidance curve and the other member forms an engaging member in cooperation with the curve. The gear members are translatory movable to and fro, in longitudinal guidance engagement with each other, and relative to the base such that movement of the actuating body causes longitudinal movement of the clamping jaw.
