Sheet-shaped material for cladding

The sheet-shaped material (1) has a textile band (3), where backside of the textile band is glued or welded on two outer side edges of a material sheet parallel to a side edge. The textile band has a higher tensile strength transverse to its longitudinal direction than in the longitudinal direction. The material is made up of leather or artificial leather, particularly from a microfiber cloth, such as Alcantara(RTM: A composite material used to cover surfaces). An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a sheet-shaped material.
