System for fixing a component to a support structure

The system has a pencil shaped component (2A,2B) passed through a connecting element (4), where a cap (4B) is provided at one end of the element and a bayonet lug (4A) at the other end. A bayonet opening (3) is formed in a supporting structure (1), where a bayonet lug-thrust bearing is integrated adjacent to the bayonet opening inside the structure. A spring (5) is provided for fixing the bayonet lug in the bayonet lug-thrust bearing. An independent claim is also included for a mirror arrangement for motor vehicles with a tubular supporting structure.
