Examples described herein provide a method for current correction of an electric motor of a vehicle operating at an operating temperature. The method includes locating an operating point (Is-β) for a nominal temperature. The method further includes identifying a corresponding torque (Te) and flux (λs) at the nominal temperature and an estimated rotor temperature (T). The method further includes identifying a solution for torque (Te) and flux (λs) at the estimated rotor temperature (T). The method further includes controlling, using a current correction based on the solution, the electric motor of the vehicle to improve the operation of the electric motor at the operating temperature.
