A load detection circuit (22) is connected to an output of the inverter circuit (52) in parallel. A load detection line (42) of the load detection circuit (22) is connected to an output line (45) of the inverter circuit (52) in parallel via resistors (R1, R2). A power supply (27) formed of a battery (4) is connected to the load detection line (42). A decision circuit (43) outputs a load detection signal when a current having a preset value or more flows through the load detection line (42). A drive/stop CPU (44) starts the engine (2) in response to the load detection. The resistors (R1, R2) are set at a resistance value which does not influence a load (7) to which a generator output is supplied.",
