Agricultural machine

The machine has a particle filter (15) arranged in an exhaust line (14) of a diesel engine (2). An engine control unit (16) controls the diesel engine in a regeneration phase such that temperature required for regeneration of the filter is met in the filter. The control unit interrupts continuous regeneration if an operating parameter of the machine influencing the regeneration is varied from a reference value. A higher-order control unit (17) predicts a time period at which the parameter is held at the reference value, and starts the regeneration during initiation of the time period.
