Heat exchanger

The heat exchanger (1) has an electrical resistance heating element, particularly a positive temperature coefficient element, where an adapter plate (34) is formed by an opening. A pipe opening is arranged at the opening of the adapter plate. A tube (18) is connected with the adapter plate in a fluid-tight manner. The adapter plate is partially or completely made of metal e.g. aluminum, steel or stainless steel, or thermoplastic.
