METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE STATUS OF A STARTER MOTOR

The method involves determining the detection cycle of the starter motor (126) when battery supplies electrical energy to starter motor. Two operating points (51,53) are defined in the detection cycle. The current measurement and voltage measurement are performed with respect to defined operating points so as to determine change of resistance value of the brush-commutator assembly. An independent claim is included for starter for determining state of starter motor.
