The device (3) has a base body (35) with a hook-shaped front part (36) for engaging behind a separating strip that is provided on a rail section. A pressure piece (40) for mounting the base body on the rail section is arranged at a rear part (38) of the base body. The pressure piece is impinged by a compression spring (42) in the direction of the hook-shaped front part.
