Power train for vehicles with power take-off shafts for driving additional devices

DRIVE March 14, 2012
Source
The drive train has tractive drives for driving auxiliary assemblies (8, 9), where a shaft (4) of the tractive drives is coaxially guided through a drive shaft for traction drive function, and the drive shaft is formed as a hollow shaft (5). A drive pinion (6') is provided at the tractive drive shaft for driving one of the assemblies e.g. motor generators, and another drive pinion (7) is provided at the hollow shaft for driving the other assembly e.g. eddy current brake and hydraulic motor. The hollow shaft is divided into two parts (5', 5'') transverse to a longitudinal axis.
