A device and a method for warning a user of a vehicle of attaining a minimal value for a residual cruising range

A device and a method for warning a user of a vehicle of attaining a minimal value for a residual cruising range is proposed. According to the invention, the device comprises - a means capable of determining or estimating the residual cruising range of the vehicle, - an input unit (6) capable of adjusting and/or setting a minimal value for the residual cruising range and - an output unit (7), capable of outputting a warning signal when the residual cruising range attains or falls below the minimal value. The method according to the invention comprises the steps of - adjusting and/or setting a minimal value for the residual cruising range of the vehicle, - monitoring the remaining residual cruising range of the vehicle and - outputting a warning signal if the remaining residual cruising range attains or falls below the minimal value.
