METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CHARGING A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
DRIVE
February 22, 2012
The method involves determining temperature of cells (2) of a heatable nickel cadmium battery (1) and electrical charge current in certain temperature range of the battery cells. The charge current of a heating device (3) is supplied for heating the battery cells when the temperature of the battery cells is dropped to a certain value above the temperature permissible for loading the battery cells. The charge current is switched for charging the battery cells when the temperature suitable for loading the battery cells is reached. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling temperature of a rechargeable battery, comprising a temperature sensor.
