An in-wheel motor unit is provided which has a simple structure and can be made lighter. The in-wheel motor unit (21) is suspended from a vehicle body and outputs torque from an internal motor (5) to a wheel (4); and has a knuckle (1), which is suspended from the aforementioned vehicle body; an output shaft (6), which outputs motor (5) torque to the wheel (4); a wheel hub (2), which rotates together with the wheel (4) and is connected to the output shaft (6) such that the output shaft (6) and the wheel hub (2) can rotate together; and a unit casing (3) for the in-wheel motor unit (21), which houses the motor (5). The wheel hub (2) is rotatably supported by a first part (1a) of the knuckle (1) via a hub bearing (10), and the unit casing (3) is fixed to a second part (1b) of the knuckle (1) via a sleeve (11) ( Fig. 3 ).
