Brake system for an industrial gearbox

The present invention provides a brake system (13) for an industrial gearbox (20). The brake system (13) comprises two hydraulic brake cylinders (15), each hydraulic brake cylinder (15) comprising a brake shoe (16). The brake system (13) furthermore comprises a device (18) for causing movement of the hydraulic brake cylinders (15) and brake lines (17) for connecting each of the hydraulic cylinders (15) to such device (18). According to different embodiments of the invention, the brake system (13) may be a stationary brake system or a mobile brake system. The present invention also provides an industrial gearbox (20) and brake system (15) assembly comprising a brake system (13) according to embodiments of the present invention.
