Construction machine with presence recognition system

The vehicle has a driver seat (2) or a standing workstation provided for an operator. A presence detection system (3) has a sensor (4) e.g. capacitive-, inductive-, ultrasonic- or infrared sensor, formed to contactlessly detect whether the operator is present on the driver seat and/or workstation based on distance measurement. The sensor of the detection system is integrated in an operator console (1). The system defines a middle authorization region that lies between the seat and/or workstation and the operator console. An independent claim is also included for a method presence control of an operator on a driver seat or a standing workstation of a construction vehicle.
