Method for operating a vehicle system of a motor vehicle comprising at least one functionality providing information to a driver and/or receiving information from a driver

The method involves sending a control parameter by a motor vehicle-external communication device i.e. server, and receiving the control parameter via a communication connection. The control parameter is considered during controlling an infotainment system, where the control parameter is related to an operating condition of a motor vehicle, availability or range of functionality during a driving operation. A metadata in a form of an XML or a HTML page is sent by the control parameter, and a part of information about the communication connection is sent to the communication device.
