Gate drive device and method for operating same

The device (10) has an electromotor (12) for driving motion of a door leaf of a door e.g. garage door, industrial door or enclosure door. A control and/or monitoring device (18) controls and/or monitors the driving motion. A power supply device (20) supplies electrical power to the electromotor and the control and/or monitoring device. The power supply device is switchable between a normal operation mode and a standby mode. Control devices (36, 38) control output voltages in the normal operation mode and standby mode by switching a switch device (S1) with respective pulse sequences (40, 42). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a door drive device.
