The pad (1) has an upper flap (4) connected to a lower flap (5) by a hinge (6) forming a horizontal axle. The lower flap is connected to a frame (7) of a seat (2) by another hinge (8) forming another horizontal axle. The lower flap is immobilized against a backrest (3) of the seat by a retaining unit when the seat is in usage position, where the retaining unit is formed of non-extensible flexible cable or wire, a rapid fastener and a passage hole. The lower flap is released when the seat is in retracted position. The hinges are formed by textile bands.
