A motor vehicle safety arrangement for vehicle occupants

There is disclosed a safety arrangement for a motor vehicle having a seat (11) comprising a squab (14). The safety arrangement comprises an outer member (22) located in the region of an outboard part of the squab (14). The member (22) (which may take the form of a moveable member or an inflatable airbag) is operable in response to an actuating signal from a sensor (24) to urge the outboard thigh (20) of an occupant (17) of the seat in a substantially medial direction towards the mid-sagittal plane of the occupant.
