System for optimising delivery or collection journeys

The system (1) has a computer system (2) e.g. web-based computer system, with a database (21) i.e. SQL database, for storing address data records e.g. street names, and for providing the records for a navigation system (4). The navigation system reads one of courier vehicles (3) e.g. trucks, belonging to courier service. The navigation system includes a display screen (41) for displaying navigation information and an input system inputting additional information relative to the records. The computer system inserts the additional information into the stored address data records. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimizing collection trips and/or delivery trips of a courier service.
