Control device for controlling personal protection means for a vehicle and method for operating such a control device

The device (SG) has a power supply module (PSUP) providing specified voltage (VINT) for the device, and a sleep mechanism transferring the power supply module into a sleep mode as a function of an external signal. A waking unit (LDWU) executes a wake-up mechanism as a function of a single electrical pulse as another external signal. The waking unit comprises a time filter for a work signal derived from the single electrical pulse and a signal generating circuit for generating a waking pulse for the power supply module, where the signal generating circuit comprises a switch. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a control device.
