Energy storage system

An energy storage system includes a converter coupleable to a power generator and a battery in parallel, thereby reducing the number of devices for circuit implementation and the size of a printed circuit board (PCB). The energy storage system is to be coupled to an electric power system that generates a system power, and the energy storage system includes a battery for generating a battery power. The converter is configured to boost or drop a voltage of at least one of the electric power, the battery power, or the system power.
