Forward collision risk reduction

The present invention relates to a method for reducing the risk of a forward collision between a vehicle (10) and a foreign object (28), said method comprising the steps of: - establishing the presence of said foreign object (28) in front of said vehicle (10); - initiating a collision risk reduction task resulting in a speed reduction of said vehicle (10), and - terminating said collision risk reduction task when said speed reduction exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
