The disclosure provides that, in the case of a road with a branching region which forms a branching point and in which at least two turning traffic sections in a turn-off region lead in the same direction of travel, the turn-off region is subdivided into at least two adjoining control regions in which the longitudinal control of the ego vehicle is specified with different control characteristics.
