When the travel direction of a vehicle is changed by an operation performed by the driver of the vehicle, the road surface drawing device draws a pattern by means of light in an area, on a road surface, that includes the side toward which the travel direction is being changed with respect to the vehicle, the pattern indicating the change in travel direction. The pattern includes a plurality of band-shaped patterns spaced apart from each other in vehicle width directions. The plurality of band-shaped patterns are such that the closer the band-shaped pattern is to the outside in the vehicle width direction, the longer the pattern is in vehicle longitudinal directions and the more the front end of the pattern is positioned forwardly.",
