The PAES copolymer is a random polymer which comprises at least two types of recurring units, one of which being derived from condensation of a diol and a dihalogenated alkylene oxide, while the other type of recurring units is derived from condensation of the same diol and a dihalodiphenylsulfone. The diol may be aromatic or alicyclic. The dihalogenated alkylene oxide preferably has at most 9 carbon atoms and/or at most 4 oxygen atoms.",
