"textContent": "An axially loaded crown gearing system includes a first component with a first crown gear and a second component with a second crown gear in toothing engagement and axially clamped to provide zero-backlash transmission. A snap-on sealing ring surrounds the gears radially, is fixed to one component, and has at least one catch lug that detents in a recess of the other component to establish a pre-assembly condition and preclude tooth-on-tooth assembly. The ring has an end-face circumferential sealing surface that, in the clamped condition, provides axial sealing either (i) against an elastic sealing element that is axially less rigid than the ring or (ii) against a sealing element formed as an axially extending extension of a wheel-bearing seal. The arrangement enables reliable sealing and tolerance compensation while simplifying assembly and protecting the toothing engagement from contamination and corrosion.",
