A process can include obtaining sensor data associated with one or more field of view (FOV) coverage areas of a roadway environment, wherein the sensor data includes respective sensor streams obtained from a plurality of distributed sensors deployed on roadside infrastructure within the roadway environment, each sensor corresponding to a particular FOV coverage area. The sensor data can be transmitted to a vehicle traffic analysis engine configured to identify sensor data obtained from different sensors and different FOV coverage areas as corresponding to a same first vehicle. The vehicle traffic analysis engine can analyze the identified sensor data to determine one or more driving characteristics of the first vehicle within the roadway environment. Driver assistance information can be transmitted to the first vehicle, wherein the driver assistance information is configured to remediate erratic driving characteristics included in the determined one or more driving characteristics of the first vehicle.
