Device for operating a blocking element

The device has a lock cylinder which has a housing and a cylinder core (4) that is rotatable around an axis (4.1). A control element is mechanically coupled with a locking element, so that the locking element is brought-in between a locking position and an unlocked position during rotation of the cylinder core around the axis. A switch is provided to determine different operating condition of the motor vehicle according to the position of the cylinder core.
