A discharge of exhaust gas from the respective cylinder is produced by an exhaust gas-side low pressure wave. The fresh air-side over pressure wave and the exhaust gas-side low pressure wave are produced by a variation in an electro acoustic transducer (9). An independent claim is also included for a piston engine comprising a fresh air plant for supplying fresh air to cylinders of a piston engine.",
