The motor vehicle air conditioning system (1) has a housing (13), a fan (12), and an air filter (17) for cleaning the air supplied to the interior of the vehicle. A refrigerant evaporator (18) is provided for cooling an air supplied to interior of the vehicle, where a heating device is also provided. A sorption material is provided as a coating on a support unit. An independent claim is also included for method for purifying air in a motor vehicle air system.
