The exchanger has tube bundles (7a) connected with tube plates (3a) and extending between the tube plates within base tubes (2a). The base tubes are formed of deep drawing pots (8) that are connected with each other, and the tube plates are designed as a single-part component of the deep drawing pots. The base tubes exhibit a cylindrical cross section, and the pots are connected in a material engaged manner. The base tubes comprise an end cap (12) that is arranged in an area of the plates. The pots comprise an inlet (10) or outlet (11) at a circumference side.
