Novel and Scalable Design for High Energy Density All-Solid-State Batteries

Disclosed herein is an electrode, comprising a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer, wherein: each of the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer comprises electrode-active material, solid electrolyte, and a carbon material; the first layer is coupled to the second layer; the second layer is coupled to the third layer; amount of the solid electrolyte in the first layer is greater than amount of the solid electrolyte in the second layer, and the amount of the solid electrolyte in the second layer is greater than amount of the solid electrolyte in the third layer; and the electrode has an electrode-active material loading of at least about 1 mg/cm.
