Control of an energy recovery system on a motor vehicle

The device (10) has a controlling part (16) for controlling quantitative measurement of recuperation of kinetic energy of a motor vehicle based on reference acceleration for the vehicle and road gradient at location of the vehicle. A sensor device (26) detects a measuring parameter depending on the gradient at the location of the vehicle. The sensor device has an acceleration sensor for detecting acceleration of the vehicle. A driving speed controller (14) adjusts the reference acceleration of the vehicle and controls the acceleration of the vehicle corresponding to the reference acceleration. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an energy recovery system of a motor vehicle for recuperation of kinetic energy of the motor vehicle.
