Electric heating device

The electrical heating device (100) has a controller that adjusts heating power by adjusting the flowing heating current. A sensor e.g. Hall sensor measures the total heating current. A calculation unit computes the momentary heating power from the measured total heating current and the specified on-board electrical voltage of a motor vehicle. The controller readjusts the heating power based on the momentary heating power and a set value. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling the electrical heating device.
