Electrical Device with Safety Functionality

The present teachings relate to an electrical device comprising: a first electrical power input; a second electrical power input; an electrical power output; a switching circuit operable to route electrical power from the electrical power inputs to the electrical power output; the switching circuit comprising: a first switching element activable to facilitate delivery of electrical power from the first electrical power input to the electrical power output; and a second switching element activable to facilitate delivery of electrical power from the second electrical power input to the electrical power output; a controller operable to control the switching circuit to switch to the first electrical power input or the second electrical power input for selecting which of said electrical power inputs is to supply electrical power at the electrical power output; wherein the electrical device is operable to determine a timing sequence of switching between the first electrical power input and the second electrical power input.
