The headrest (10) has a head contact surface (F) including a pad carrier, which is movably formed relative to a base part i.e. stamped metal part, between a start position and an end position. The pad carrier is assigned to a connector of a coupled gear. The connector is supported with two circle-sector-shaped steering wheels that are swingable around two pivotal axes and a four-bar linkage that is formed at the base part. The coupled gear comprises another connector, which is connected with the steering wheels and pivotably forms another four-bar linkage.
