Steering a straddle carrier
DRIVE
September 21, 2011
The steering unit has a steering bar (1) and a rod (2) with rod heads (3,3') for supporting a bearing. A crank (8) is provided at the rod head, where a cross-section area (10) of the rod head is determined by a given material such that a plastic deformation of the rod head occurs without break during a maximum given load. A stoppage lever (9) of the rod head is selected opposite to the rod by the crank such that the plastic deformation occurs at the rod end with extra large axial forces in the steering bar.
