ASSISTING ANOTHER VEHICLE OPERATING NEARBY TO DETERMINE LOCATION

Various systems and methods are presented regarding utilizing technology onboard a vehicle to assist vehicles (e.g., an autonomous vehicle) operating nearby that may have lost temporary location determining capabilities. The system can comprise executable components, for example a communication component, a navigation component and alert component. The communication component can be configured to receive the distress signal, wherein the distress signal comprises a second vehicle information to enhance location determination. The navigation component can be configured to determine, using the second vehicle information, if the second vehicle making the distress signal is travelling in the same direction. The alert component can be configured to provide an external alert to identify the vehicle system upon determining that the second vehicle is traveling in the same direction, wherein communication component establishes a communication connection with the second vehicle.
