Information output device

The apparatus (1) has a position determining device (3) for determining a position and alignment of the apparatus and supplying signal representing the determined position and another signal representing the determined alignment to a processing unit (7). The processing unit retrieves information about objects from a database and processes the information. The processing unit determines information about the objects in a direction of the determined alignment of the apparatus and provides the determined information to a display unit (2) that displays the information. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an information reproducing apparatus.
