Driver restraint system for the operator of a straddle carrier
DRIVE
September 14, 2011
The system has a driver's seat (4) connected to an infrastructure of a straddle carrier facing transverse to a traveling direction. A seat shell (1) is connected to the seat and deformed by forces that occur if the straddle carrier tips over. The seat shell is displaced and braked with respect to a driver's cabin in a direction of forces. A belt roller (7) is attached to the seat shell. A spring, a rubber band and a cable are placed between the seat and the seat shell. The seat shell is placed on a carriage on a rail system.
