Circuit and method for detecting the removal of batteries

The circuit has a shunt resistor (Rs) connected between a storage capacitor supplying voltage (Vccc) to an electronic board and a power supply output supplying voltage (Vccp) from a battery. The power supply output is connected to a standard input/output of a microcontroller via a resistor (Rt) and to an analog-to-digital-converter (ADC) of the microcontroller. The voltage supplied to the electronic board is related to reference voltage of the analog-to-digital-converter of the microcontroller. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting withdrawal of a battery in an electronic device comprising an electronic board equipped with a microcontroller supplied by the battery.
