The resetting force is adjusted to a predetermined range by varying an extrusion cross-section and/or varying material boundary between co-extruded strands formed of different materials. The cross-section is evenly changed by changing the cross-section shape. The resetting force is measured at a temperature of the seal strand, where the temperature lies above normal ambient temperature of the strand. An independent claim is also included for a device for producing a seal strand by an extrusion process.",
