Hollow fan blade

A blade (30) includes a hollow metal airfoil (32) having an opening to an internal cavity (54) in a first major surface (42). A metal cover (50) is adhesively bonded to a socket (52) formed around the opening. The cover encloses the cavity and provides a continuous first major surface.
