The car (1) has an automatic longitudinal guiding system (4) with a control device (5) for automatically enabling application of an electronic controlled parking brake when a standstill condition of the car is obtained from the guiding system. A request directed to a driver for active application of a P-driving stage of an electronic switchable gear box (2) or for active actuation of a vehicle brake is outputted or the control device automatically and controllably applies the P-driving stage when possible or preset malfunction is detected during application of the brake by the control device.
