Pressurised air compressor and method for operating same

The compressor (1) has a piston (3) arranged in a cylinder (2) and dividing an inner area of the cylinder into a compression area (4) and a neutral area (5). The compression area is connected with compressed air units (12, 15) of a vehicle for conveying compressed air. The neutral area is subjected with auxiliary pressure, so that the pressure in the neutral area is above atmospheric pressure in time average. The neutral area is connected with a pneumatic stabilization device (7) for production of stabilized auxiliary pressure. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a pressurized air compressor.
