Method for operating a combustion machine with multiple combustion events in an operating cycle

The method involves determining an actual value for energy content and a condition for an individual combustion process within a working cycle separately. The actual value for the content is compared with a set value for content of the respective combustion process. The actual value for the condition is compared with a set value for a condition of the respective combustion process. Preset parameters influencing the processes are changed based on an amount of differences between the actual and set values such that the amounts of differences between the actual and set values are minimized.
