Charging system and method for charging electric vehicles

The charging system has a central conductive changer unit and multiple spatially distributed charging stations (28) with respective charging installation units (30), where the respective charging installation units of the central conductive changer unit are supplied with electricity. A charging station is formed at an electric vehicle (60) for contactless energy transmission. The charging station has a data transmission or receipt unit (32) for data exchange with an electric vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for charging electric vehicles.
